“Hungary is set to have one million new citizens through its dual citizenship scheme by the end of the current government’s mandate in 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen told MTI on Sunday.
The authorities have received 700,000 applications for Hungarian citizenship by the end of this year and 650,000 people have taken their oaths already, he said.
Semjen expressed “limited optimism” regarding cooperation with new Romanian head of state Klaus Iohannis. He said that Iohannis as a mayor of Sibiu (Nagyszeben) had not displayed much interest in the affairs of ethnic Hungarians, either.”

JOBBIK’s aims to return Hungary’s borders to pre-Trianon Treaty which was signed in 1920 between most of the Allies of World War I - The Entente Powers - and the Kingdom of Hungary.
Vona has also declared his aim to get autonomy for Szekely Land - a region home to around 500-600,000 ethnic Hungarians in Romania.

“The 4th June means something entirely different for Hungarians than for any other nation, because, since the founding of the Hungarian Kingdom on the 25th December in 1000, the Carpathian Basin was home to the whole Hungarian population. The Kingdom lived through dozens of wars, through stormy centuries (as our anthem also speaks – tr.) until the Treaty, while being more or less undivided. Our country got involved in WWI as part of the Astro-Hungarian monarchy, and finally lost, so got into the hands of the winners thereafter. Well, there was no benevolence at the table when they showed the Treaty to the Hungarian delegation; they wanted to make an example of Hungary. They took the two-thirds of the Hungarian lands. Romania, for example, received a larger part (102.813 km2) than the whole Hungarian country was left with (92.952 km2).”

It has been rumored in Hungary for years that the Trianon peace dictate was created for 100 years and that Hungary would get back its lost territories by 2020. A historian explains why that is a myth.
